Problem: Conductivity Tensor

    Prove that for a tetragonal crystal the conductivity is isotropic in the plane perpendicular to the c axis. (Note how powerful a statement this is. For example, in an electrical conductivity measurement one obtains the same value if the current flows along the CuO bonds of Figure 1.6 or if it flows in a direction tex2html_wrap_inline5129 to them.)
