Problem: Screening of an Impurity Charge

In a three-dimensional free-electron system the dielectric function is described by the Linhard function, Eq. gif. Take a simple approximation for the effective screening function tex2html_wrap_inline7073 : L=1 for tex2html_wrap_inline7077 , and L=0 otherwise (Figure gif). Use this function to investigate the asymptotic behavior of the electric potential tex2html_wrap_inline7081 around a point charge impurity.gif
