Problem: Electric and Heat Transport

Use your knowledge of metals and semiconductors to do the following:

    (a) Sketch the temperature dependence of the resistivity for a metal and for an intrinsic semiconductor. Indicate the characteristic temperature dependencies and the order of magnitude numerical values, and identify the physical origins of the various terms.

    (b) Now do the same for the thermal conductivity of metals and insulators. Scale the temperature axis only.
